Jackpot: Installation

Note:  Jackpot requires that the NetBeans IDE be run using either Java 5, or Java 6 build 97 or higher.

The Jackpot modules are currently available on the NetBeans update centers. Follow these steps to install the Jackpot modules into the NetBeans IDE.

NetBeans 6.0 Daily Builds

1. Start a daily build of NetBeans IDE 6.0 (available from NetBeans downloads).
2. Go to the Tools | Update Center.
3. Make sure you have checked "Development Update Center" and follow the steps in the Update Wizard.
4. Select the Jackpot Module and Jackpot Developer Module items in the Java folder (the other Jackpot modules will be added as needed).
5. Important: If you will be developing Jackpot transfomer classes, in Step 4 of the wizard set all Global checkboxes. This is necessary so that the Jackpot API is visible during development.
6. Finish the wizard. 

NetBeans 5.0 and 5.5 Beta Releases

1. Start either the NetBeans IDE 5.0 or the 5.5 Beta (available from NetBeans downloads).
2. Go to the Tools | Update Center.
3. Make sure you have checked "NetBeans Update Center Beta" and follow the steps in the Update Wizard.
4. Select the Jackpot Module and Jackpot Developer Module items in the Features folder (the other Jackpot modules will be added as needed).
5. Important: If you will be developing Jackpot transfomer classes, in Step 4 of the wizard set all Global checkboxes. This is necessary so that the Jackpot API is visible during development.
6. Finish the wizard.
   

The Refactoring Manager menu item should appear in the Tools menu, and the Query and Refactor... menu item in the Refactor menu.
